Hello everyone! My name is Kristin Hartgrove and I am a proud resident of Greensboro, North Carolina. I have been drawing, painting, and crafting all my life but now I am focusing my creative juices towards the world of graphic design!
While not my original career path, I have discovered a passion for design that has infused me with a new sense of purpose and grounding. I am currently finishing up my BA in Graphic Design through Rocky Mountain College of Art + Design (RMCAD). I also have two BS degrees in Plant Biology and Horticultural Science – with some Graduate coursework – from NC State University.
I have recently taken to t-shirt design and screen-printing while working at a local custom apparel company as a graphic designer and screen-printer. In addition to embroidery work, they do a great deal of screen-printing for all sorts of apparel and accessories. As a designer, I have had the opportunity to work with clients directly to create custom t-shirt designs, logos, promotional brochures and order forms, etc. It has been so incredible to see a how a design goes from creation to a finished product and seeing something I created on a t-shirt that someone will wear has been surreal! On any given day I am involved in creating designs, making/preparing screens, screen-printing garments, folding, bagging, meeting with customers, etc. It’s been such a joy seeing my designs go from an idea to an actual printed product and I look forward to each new design request/challenge.
When I’m not working or studying, I spend my days caring for our furry family members: a sassy black cat named Arabella (Bella for short), two rescued kittens named Smith and Wesson, a 6 lb. long-haired chihuahua named Gunner, and a chihuahua/rat terrier little girl named Cheyenne (yes, we're a Southern family if you couldn't already tell). Amidst trying to look after these rascals, I am an avid reader, and lover of all puzzles (jigsaw, crossword, Sudoku, etc.), photography, cooking/baking, and crocheting. I am also a pretty big nerd and I generally love learning new things! Spending time with my crazy family brings me so much joy and I wouldn't trade them for the world.
Here's a brief list of the types of design projects I currently work on:
~ T-Shirt Design
~ Logo Design
~ Promotional Materials (flyers, forms, album/book covers, posters, etc.)
~ Wall Decor
~ Classroom Decor

Of  course, I'm always open to other types of projects as well so just shoot me a message if you have an idea and would like some help in bringing it to fruition! I'd love to work with you and help you make your dream/idea come to life!
